The Museum of Urban Rewilding on Governors Island is an educational and research facility dedicated to urban ecological restoration. The building emerges from the landscape by lifting and peeling the ground plane upward, embedding transparent gallery and laboratory spaces beneath a continuous living roof. Supported by a refined timber structure, the project preserves uninterrupted ecology above while framing views toward Lower Manhattan. Through environmental education, research, and public programming, the museum acts as a prototype for rewilding New York City.
