Perched on the southwest cliffs of Dong’ao Island, Alila Dong’ao Island explores interior design as a sensory journey shaped by sea, light, and topography. The spatial narrative transforms arrival through carved stone, reflective water courtyards, and gradually unfolding ocean views. Public spaces are positioned to capture shifting daylight from sunrise to sunset, while the cliffside infinity pool visually dissolves into the sea. The 103 all-suite “Sky Villas” balance openness and privacy through layered thresholds, natural light,and flexible tea-room living spaces inspired by Lingnan culture.
