Situated on an abandoned runway, this project transforms an industrial site into a wetland sanctuary. Inspired by bird flight paths and Iceland's coast, flowing walkways and spherical volumes contrast the rigid runway, symbolizing nature’s return. The architecture utilizes a flexible modular timber system to minimize ecological impact. A passive-design timber skin with flippable panels regulates ventilation and provides concealed bird observation, reducing human disturbance. This sustainable approach is deeply rooted in the restored ecosystem.
