The Diageo YunTuo complex is the brand’s first single-malt whisky distillery in China, encompassing a production facility and a fully integrated visitor experience, offering tours, tasting rooms, retail, and cultural spaces. It is a series of intensely formal pavilions whose material and sculptural nature is conceived as a sweeping response to the site’s dramatic topography. The architecture follows the slope with each structure offering a distinct yet related identity: a series of low, stone-clad buildings and, later, cast-in-place concrete volumes, culminating in a heroic barrel tower.
