How can cultural value be returned to an abandoned landscape in the United Kingdom? Located in Dorset, this project reimagines Corfe Castle beyond static preservation. By embracing natural erosion, the castle is transformed from a fixed monument into a dynamic landscape system. Through a “boulder’s journey,” stones are returned along reversed quarry routes, reconnecting castle and quarry. A circular path with five key moments redistributes cultural value, creating new habitats. Heritage is redefined as an evolving process embedded across the landscape rather than a single preserved object.
