The Loft design brief called for the adaptive reuse of a utilitarian barn, previously defined by garage-style access and storage functions, into a refined gothic-inspired gathering space capable of hosting weddings, photoshoots, and corporate events. The strong monolithic forms of the ecclesiastical inspired architecture, from the formal symmetry of the space planning and tall gothic windows, to the soft arches and vaulted ceilings throughout, create an ethereal atmosphere. Studio Author emphasised this with materials that would add character, depth and a touch of imperfection to the space.
