Set within NYC Chinatown, the "Ripple" is a hospice care facility inspired by the concept of water. It begins with a circular water court that radiates outward to generate the spatial order, forming layers of soft thresholds. The "Ripple" reframes hospice as an urban civic presence rather than a remote retreat, extending its role beyond patients and families. The building uses CLT panels as the primary material to provide structural support, transfer water around while conceal the plumbing within the stud. Water shapes the space as a quiet instrument of time, reflection and relief.
