Light Gathering in the Yuàn is an immersive installation in The Light Room exploring light as a primary architectural medium. Drawing from the Chinese courtyard, the project reinterprets diasporic memory within contemporary Toronto through calibrated illumination, communal spatial planning, and sensory cues. The work demonstrates how light alone can reorganize behaviour, encourage collective presence, and transform hospitality into a culturally responsive spatial experience.
