A fragile Algarvian stone ruin becomes the soul of the home, preserved in full view while quietly rescued from within by an insulated, reinforced concrete core that brings strength, airtightness and thermal comfort without erasing the stone’s truth. Both the restored ruin and the new extension use the same material family, but tuned by colour for different atmospheres:the ruin is held in disciplined greys to deepen shadow and heighten texture;the extension shifts to whites and off-whites to open the spaces to light.Same materials, different calibration, two outcomes that read as one narrative.
