The Jiaxing Museum expansion, core to its library-museum complex, neighbors the historic South Lake Revolutionary Memorial Hall east of "July 1st" Square. Its design, "Classic Reinvention of Urban Memorial Space," unifies disparate styles with the square. The new north hall preserves the old structure's form, using geometric volumes, courtyards, and transitional spaces. The simplified façade employs original quarry stone with vertical lines, fostering dialogue with the memorial hall. A budget constraint led to shortening the planned colonnade.
