Located beside the renewed Naka-Ikebukuro Park, this mixed-use building integrates commercial spaces and a maisonette residence within a compact urban footprint. In response to the stone-paved plaza and its vibrant public life, the project introduces a “transom garden” — a planted band inserted at the upper window level. This sectional greenery preserves tenant visibility while filtering light and softening the façade. Recessed garden zones create depth and environmental continuity with the park, proposing a porous urban form that mediates between city, plaza, and interior life.
