Founded over 400 years ago, Higeta Shoyu pioneered the addition of wheat to soy sauce brewing in 1697, creating the origin of dark soy sauce and establishing a unique identity that reshaped Japanese food culture. The new headquarters conveys this heritage architecturally: golden louvers evoke vast wheat fields shimmering in the wind, like a noren curtain swaying. A central light court in “Higeta Yellow” fills interiors with symbolic brightness, while signage reinterpreting wooden barrels turns function into tactile forms, weaving history, material, and innovation into the company’s future.
