The project transforms a pre-existing building at Oscar Freire st., in the Jardim Paulista neighbourhood, to create the first VEJA STORE in Brazil. The store is a radical collision of exposed history and Paulista modernism. The original building had its core stripped of every element: internal walls, stairs, ceilings, finishes, services - the remnants of many decades of diverse uses and configurations. The project communicates principles that are shared between the architect and the VEJA brand: minimal use of available resources, transparency throughout every process, and truth to materials.
