This poster design was created upon request from Associate Professor Yohei Kotsuhashi of the Functional Polymer Laboratory at a Japanese university to brand his research group. The design features a cicada because Professor Kotsuhashi's research mimics cicada wings. Cicada wings are known to kill bacteria, and by replicating their shape, his team is developing materials that prevent bacterial adhesion. Thus, the cicada was adopted as the laboratory's symbolic motif, expressing the significance of the connection between the research and the cicada.
