Poplar, although classified as a hardwood, is one of the softer species due to its cellular structure. It is often used in furniture for elements that don’t require high durability. Thanks to its short rotation age, it has great production potential. Despite being less popular among woodworkers due to its susceptibility to damage, poplar can perform well when the design considers structural stresses and properly distributes forces. In my project, I proved that poplar, especially when combined with oak, ensures strength and adds visual value, making it a valuable material in furniture design.
