Sustainable reuse and transformation of old industrial shed on Porirua’s waterfront. The idea is to seed a new identity re-orientating the city to the water. Conceptually, the project is inspired by its connection to the sea. The arcade establishes a new pedestrian axis in a city of cars, it walks like an amphibian from the sea towards the town centre. Creating a new meeting place for Porirua's multi-cultural community of Maori, Pacifica, Asian and European peoples to enjoy contemporary arts, culture, food and well-being on the water’s edge.
