Casa del Este is an off-grid residence in Cabo del Este, designed by JVL Arquitectos for an American family of four who spend half the year in Alaska and half in Baja California. Sand from the site was used in its characteristic rammed-earth walls and concrete structure. A central patio with a concrete pergola, inspired by traditional Mexican architecture, organizes the layout and frames a torote tree, followed by social areas that flow toward the ocean through a sequence of terraces and visual planes, with the Pacific shoreline just 40 meters to the south.
