3-to-1 Pavilion is a contemporary wooden structure in a Shanghai garden, designed for tea ceremonies and reflection. Its triangular form symbolizes the interplay of time, space, and people. Thirty shifting frames create a spatial journey toward a framed garden view. Vertical louvers filter light, marking time’s passage. Built with charred wood, the pavilion blends with nature, offering a meditative, interstitial space between the everyday and the sacred.
