This Action Sports Center in Munich transforms the historic Eggenfabrik into a sports hub through a community-focused, participatory design. It sensitively reuses the ca. 1900 structure, preserving embodied CO₂, with a new timber roof. Designed for all, including wheelchair skaters, it champions sustainability with natural ventilation, PV-integrated skylights, and a green façade. A planned timber-hybrid second phase will add more sports and a café. This center uniquely blends heritage, low-tech sustainability, and sports culture, fostering community and reflecting a ‘build simply’ ethos.
