Located on Awaji Island on Japan's west coast, THE GOAT AWAJI is a hotel that has been revitalized from a 35-year-old employee lodging facility into a luxury hotel. The design separates the lines of flow between the main building and the villa building, and the tall trees block the line of sight, thereby minimizing contact between guests and pursuing an immersive space that seems separated from everyday life. Traditional local Japanese materials such as burnt cedar and Awaji tiles are used for the exterior and interior, conveying environmental responsibility and the charm of regional culture.
