Origami House is located in a small beach town called Cariló, Argentina. The design was inspired by origami: the art of transforming a flat square sheet of paper into a finished sculpture without the use of cuts. The complex structure in reinforced concrete was extended from ceiling to floors to create triangular shaped walls and roofs that resemble as being perfectly “folded”. These walls act as a bioclimatic skin protecting the house from the sun and storms. Each opening was meticulously studied to create changing patterns of light and shadow that transform the space during the day.
