This prototype hotel room argues that modular technology can serve architectural design, not replace it. In the façade, angled, white slab cap covers intersect with vertical fins to disguise the thick horizontal matelines. These aluminum fins are gray on one side and bronze on the other, which, along with their stepped notch pattern, provides visual interest. Inside, custom millwork echoes the façade’s vertical lines, emphasizing modular’s compatibility with high design. The design process also yielded innovations like a super slim fire board and a 3D interactive spec book.
