The Black House has been developed as a new prototype of the modular No Footprint House (NFH) series. The NFH proposes an innovative system for sustainable construction, combining industrial and prefabricated techniques with locally harvested and renewable materials. A broad variation of residential typologies makes use of passive design strategies, such as site-specific positioning, solar shading, natural ventilation, biological water filtration and rainwater recollection. The project seeks for integral sustainability in terms of its environmental, economic, social and spatial performance.
