In contrast to the traditional long-narrow, east-west school building, we designed a rectangular school building on this limited site. It occupies less land, has shorter interior corridors, and has smaller exterior walls. On the other hand, the rectangular school building has classrooms that don't face south, so it is necessary to find ways to provide natural lighting and ventilation. Therefore, we created two courtyards to ensure natural lighting and ventilation while solving the disadvantages of increased heat load in summer and direct sunlight in winter due to the south-facing classrooms.
