The Boat-shaped Thatched Cottage Hotel project is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional 'boat-shaped house' belonging to the Li ethnic minority. Inspired by the iconic roofs supported with tree trunks and walls constructed from knotted bamboo strips coated with mud, this unique hotel captures the essence of Li cultural heritage. The distinctive roof design mirrors the graceful curve of a boat's bottom, while semicircular eaves at both ends contribute to an authentic and immersive experience of Li ethnic dwellings for visitors.
