Changzhou Island Toll Station is not only the starting point of the Xinhua Expressway, but also an important new urban landmark and portal to the central urban area in the south of Guangzhou. The thoughtful design honors the deep-rooted history while embracing its bright and flourishing future. An elegant hyperbolic rain canopy artfully captures the essence of the city's iconic flower petals, Kapok. The project also adapted BIM technology, substantially decreasing construction time and minimizing disruptions to traffic flow.
