The author, Tamiko Ohtake, currently lives in a house by the sea in Shimane Prefecture. In one of the nine essays she wrote there, she wrote, "In the middle of the sea, a tide line appeared like a snake swimming in the water, and the appearance of the tide line looked like the stone garden of Ryoanji Temple in Kyoto. The book was designed and bound in a size that is easy to pick up and read (A4 size, 292 mm (top) x 128 mm (side to side)) while maintaining a good screen size.
