Prinx is a modular lighting fixture that challenges traditional 3D printing methods. It utilizes auxetic structures and varying thicknesses to offer precise control over the deformation of module pieces. With three distinct modules, Prinx enables the creation of diverse and sculpture-like forms. By utilizing 3D printing for production, it is possible to both localize and globalize the manufacturing process. Overall, Prinx exemplifies the potential of 3D printing to push the boundaries of furniture design, manufacturing and engineering, while showcasing the artistry and skill of its designers.
