Refurbished from a building built 40 years ago purposed as a print factory, Office AIO was to provide a design overhaul for a new hotel brand. Called "Read and Rest Hotel", the project boasts a program mix of a print media library and short stay guest rooms. The design preserves and restores the architecture representational of its time, while celebrating the new life within the Hutong with a subtle yet poetic gesture. The design entertains a recessed entrance which took form in a double-height telescopic portal, bridging the exterior frontage through an intimate lobby and into the library.
