Refugium is located near Lisbon on the seafront of Costa da Caparica. The original fishermen's houses were the basis for this renovation which resulted in a pure and minimalist architecture. The project accepts what it finds and gives it a new life, reusing as many existing elements as possible. Microlime natural coating ensures the homogenization of the entire space. The sustainable principles of the intervention were also extended to the decoration by providing a collaboration with local craftsmen. The project introduces the coastal environment but maintains an inner world of intimacy.
