Vilas's concept is to combine European ingredients and Thai cooking techniques. While Thai's 5 natural elements (water, plants, fire, earth, and brass) are blended into the space, French architectural elements are also used as inspiration from Europe by their systematic and minimal yet classic design, with local elaboration explaining their culture just like Thai design philosophy—not so overwhelming, not so humble, yet culturally representative. These concepts from the classic histories of Thai and French are interpreted modernly creating a meaningful and timeless space for this restaurant.
