ASG is social housing. Prefabricated hollow-brick walls and balconies make it affordable. The low-cost, standard-format formwork of the concrete floors was composed into a zigzag plan. This fits well on its triangular site, which lays between 80’s social housing and the parklands of Marchfeld Canal. Its sawtooth form, inspired by the fronts of the housing estate to the south, expands the interior views towards the meadows in the north. The undulating balconies, rendered in ribbed stucco, amplify the rhythm of the facades. We imagined them as the prow of a white ship, sailing on green fields.
