Known as Austin’s first park, this 84-acre park nestles between downtown and neighborhoods along the banks of Shoal Creek. This project implements the first phase of a master plan by rehabilitating, preserving, and enhancing the park’s southernmost tip, affectionately referred to as its “recreational heart and soul.” The design weaves together existing vegetation with a robust program of amenities including event rental spaces, new restrooms and storage facilities, natural playgrounds, a basketball court, and an interactive water feature recalling karst limestone Texas Hill Country aquifers.
