This modern home stands amongst the trees in harmony with the surrounding forest. The design required a staggered layout to work with the sloped terrain and save as many trees as possible, keeping the built footprint to a minimum. FSC-certified, laminated wood was used for the structure, a renewable material with no carbon emissions. Rainwater and wastewater recycling systems maintain the green areas. The spatial quality lies in the subtlety of the design and its connection to nature. With its clean lines and sparse materials, the house is an understated retreat that invites contemplation.
