HAKU, the pronunciation of the Japanese character “泊” meaning stopover and anchorage, is a place where the owner hopes to escape from the hustle and bustle, spending the day with self-care and inner peace. The design concept is based on the oriental philosophy of ‘round heaven and square earth’, where movement and stillness complement each other. Four oriental elements “Earth”, “White”, “Water” and “Sky” are used as the themes of the four storeys. The least amount of furniture is placed to keep the house minimal. The blankness creates a calming and relaxing space for the dweller.
