Taking a cue from the old city of Mathura, where this project is located this 800 room hostel creates organic spaces by design. The built spaces oriented towards the north snake across a wedge-shaped site, twisting and turning along its length, creating individual spaces with discernible identity in each part of the layout. Each of the rooms have a ‘wedge-shaped north-facing’ window facilitating light throughout the year and reducing the heat gain in a warm-climate. The organic layout of the buildings characterizes each space within the site and the use of color accentuates different blocks.
