Hauser & Wirth Menorca is an art center designed by Luis Laplace, restoring the 18th-century outbuildings of a decommissioned naval hospital. Located on Illa del Rei, an island off Mahon harbour in the Mediterranean, the center intuitively integrates architecture, art and nature in its 1,500 square meters of exhibition space, restaurant and gallery shop. Laplace has sensitively repurposed the existing historic outbuildings into an inspiring environment to experience contemporary art, which enhances the history and naval qualities of the building.
