Murray’s new side-by-side retail store and restaurant are located on the ground floor of a new residential development in Long Island City. Rockwell Group was inspired by Murray’s state-of-the-art cheese caves facility and laboratory. A cheese library is the focus of the retail space, conceived as a minimal twist on Murray’s Cheese laboratories. Copper and terracotta color details are reminiscent of the vats and molds used to make cheese. The restaurant continues with this materiality, combining a bolder, deeper and more vibrant color palette.
