Green areas are rare in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). "Colorful Zone" presents itself as an attractive exception. The project emerges as a green cultural and leisure hub, on a former car park, that invites passers-by on the top level with multifunctional pavilions with cafés and restaurants, and on the lower levels with retail, culture, gastronomy, entertainment. The translucent roof construction is visually stimulating and allows for an activation of the square all year round – it lets enough light through to the lower floors, offers shade from the sun and safety from the heavy monsoon rains.
