Parque Cantera occupies a surface of 26,534 m²(6.56 acres) located in Mexico City. The park is surrounded by high density housing complexes where marginalization and street violence are common. The main focus of the project was the environmental recovery of the plot of land which used to be a volcanic rock quarry, therefore the transformation of the space was radical. The scope of what the park was to offer to the city and its visitors ranged from a new self-sufficient water management system for the park, alongside the establishment of new greenery areas as well as sport fields and playgrounds
