The Writer’s Block is a creative nook designed within an existing adapted historic building. A writer-game designer couple needed a space for collaboration. One, a NYTimes bestselling author, and the other, a game designer. Taking cues from their work and interests, our design took inspiration from the Escher-like geometries of the video game Monument Valley and creating a live-work space that played with perspective. The central element functions as both spatial separation and furniture. A writing desk on one face, and a lounge on the other. We nicknamed it the "Writer’s Block"
