An effective rebuilding of derelict historic buildings. The buildings and part of the graveyard are listed as a Scheduled Ancient Monument and the kirk is also Category B listed. The kirk now houses a unique collection of nationally significant gravestones rescued from nearby Cullicudden and Kirkmichael graveyards before erosion led to the surface relief being lost. A main part of the interpretation was installation of two bespoke benches with “as-new” stone displays. The detailed relief of these help improve access for an understanding by general public and the visually impaired.
