DF&A’s Autograph Hotel is in construction at Hudson Yards, the fast-rising new mega-quadrant on Manhattan’s West Side. Distinct amid glass towers in the international style, the hotel reconnects to the history of New York City architecture by using a more human scale, as well as varying materials and scales in its facade. A visually striking inverted V column holds up the corner at the top of the building, while a companion V column allows the structure to support a 25-foot-high, 40-foot-wide uninterrupted glass expanse, giving guests remarkable views over the Hudson River at sunset.
